Perennial Flowers at our cottage by the Baltic Sea

Today I went to our cottage at Kopphuslandet in Northern Uppland close to the Baltic by the river Dalälven!

I wen't there to see my parents for coffee and also get cuttings from our Lilac hedge to take to my house in Lövstabruk.

On the seaside it's really hard to get flowers growing so my mother usually have flowers in pots here, but on the west side does she have my favorite perennial flower beds! Here I have been taking a lot of photos through the years

 A lot of old style cottage flowers in abundance along the wall and around the rock. Along the mixed hedge (Lilacs/Syrén & Bird Cherry/Hägg) do we have flowers from the nature; Anemone, Lily of the Valley, Primroses, Snowdrops,....

Here is my favorite Tarda Tulip/Flocktulpan that I also planted at my house as You saw in yesterdays blog

A white Fritillaria Meleagris/Kungsängslilja

Stunning Primula from seeds my mother put here for many years ago and some Peonies/Pioner with intense red colour before they turn green.

A flower I want in my garden as well is the Martagon/Krollilja, love this powerful flower standing over everything, for now it's just growing but beautiful anyway.

Later we wen't to my parents place for dinner and there it is a smaller forrest of Birches/Björkar I just love.

Specially to follow the season through them, just now with bright green small leaves

Old trees and little new ones

Living in such a old village as Lövstabruk with parks and gardens there are some really intresting trees around and it's going to be fun to discover them and learn more.

My favorite, so far, is the Chestnut/Kastanj by the bus stop, I love to follow the dramatic development of leaves and flowers on it

This is a very rare one for Sweden: Caucasus Buckthorn/Kaukasisk Getapel

There are some I don't know what they are, so help me if You can:

Today it has been a brilliant sunny day and I planted some small trees myself, some rooted by me and some I bought small (to save money)

A Larch tree/Lärkträd to expand the meadow & a Weaping Willow/Hängpil in a wet area

My favortie Birch, the Swedish Ornäs Dalecarlia, small but still with the beautiful leaves & my Magnolia "George Henry Kern" is still in a pot, have not made up my mind yet, dig it down or keep it in a pot (a larger one). It has one flower (upper left) and more coming :D

Other things happens in my garden, like that my favorite Tulips start to bloom: Tarda Tulip/Flocktulpan!

I love the low flowers and that usually have 5-7 flowers on each bulb, the Roe deers don't eat them and the colouring is like a beautiful aquarell

And the Grape Hyacinths/Pärlhyacint I got from my parents last fall start to bloom as well

And OHHH the excitement, soon it's Rhubarb/Rabarber time, yum yum!

The Heavy wet snowfall the other night disappeared quickly, but brooke branches on young trees and flattened hedges, in my case only my beautiful fragant Narcissus (bought cheap in a pot at IKEA) where all flattened :(

But I cut them off and put them in my Finnish seven armed vase to enjoy

Källmossa Gård, yet another beautiful Uppland experience

Yesterday my friends Evy & Susanne here in the village asked me if I wanted to come with them to Källmossa Gård (Farm) in Slada By to check out the new plants for sale there.

I have never been, but heard about it. It's situated near here in northern Uppland on the Hållnäs half island.

They producing free range eggs, honey and young plants for the garden.

And free range it is, the hens roaming around wherever they enjoy in a huge enclosure including a meadow.

Eggs from here are sold in my village and elsewhere, but also here is a small self-service Egg Shop

We found the owner Helena busy working in the greenhouse

And what a job she puts down in it, I have never seen such order and neatness in a smaller greenhouse like this

And even here it's self service, just put the money in the box, but I'm happy we met Helene anyway, she was great to talk with.

And my friends Evy and Susanne certainly filled that box :D

Such a great experience, and you have to be quick getting plants here, she has what she has, when all is sold she close the greenhouse for the season, but Eggs and Honey can still be bought.

Today May 1st I woke up to a brief white wonderland, I knew it was coming so it wasn't really a chock, and I have a lot of neglected job to do inside the house, plus planting seedlings in larger pots.
