Mid May flower report from my village Lövstabruk in Uppland

Living in a area where the spring is several months long is a pure pleasure, and as I usually say: "It's like falling in love, over and over again, for months".
Every day there is something new to see, overlapping of flowers along the roads, lawns, forrests or a fragance hitting You around the corner that wasn't there the day before!

Today it was a sunny day and I took a long walk around our village with my camera:

Our lawns have been covered with White Snowdrops, Blue Scilla, Yellow Springonions and now Daisys/Bellis & Yellow Primroses
At the Manor house the Linden trees got their leaves the last couple of days
And in the Fruit orchard the Cherry and Appletrees showing off
Clean Air :D

We have enjoyed the fantastic flavour of Ramson/Ramslök for a long while but now it's time to enjoy the flowers and the subtle smell of fresh onion

During my walk I met cute Tifla, a Danish-Swedish Farmdog

In my own garden have the Forget-Me-Not/Förgätmigej started to bloom along the edges
The Tarda Tulips/Flocktulpan are full on
This Daisy/Bellis in my lawn looks like it is on steriods

Thank You for today, hope Your day was great as well, Per!

Rhubarbs and Rain, Excellent!

Today, at last, two good things happened!

I did harvest my first Rhubarb & it's raining!
We definately needed the rain after a very dry spring, and personally I definately needed to feel the taste of Rhubarbs after greedily looking at them growing.

First out is the Rhubarbs (of unknown kind) I found together with Black Currants in the old abandoned kitchen garden on the other side of the stream.
Hard labour digging and weeding payed off!

My first harvest :D
I did melt the sliced Rhubarbs on low heat with chopped fresh Ginger and a little bit of Ecological Cane Sugar and water
YUM, perfect to use on real full fat yoghurt like Turkish or Greek, but today I had it on my Oatmeal, soooooo gooood :9

Rain at last, my stream where I get all my water for my flower beds and veggie paths start to fill up again and all new plants get the water they need from above.
I got the "Lady's Mantle"/Jättedaggkåpa just for my photography, always been fascinated how the water stays on the leaves, and she did not disapoint today

At the Manor house the Apple Orchard shows promising beauty to come, can hardly wait

Have a fantastic day, Per!

Källmossa Gård, yet another beautiful Uppland experience

Yesterday my friends Evy & Susanne here in the village asked me if I wanted to come with them to Källmossa Gård (Farm) in Slada By to check out the new plants for sale there.

I have never been, but heard about it. It's situated near here in northern Uppland on the Hållnäs half island.
They producing free range eggs, honey and young plants for the garden.
And free range it is, the hens roaming around wherever they enjoy in a huge enclosure including a meadow.
Eggs from here are sold in my village and elsewhere, but also here is a small self-service Egg Shop

We found the owner Helena busy working in the greenhouse
And what a job she puts down in it, I have never seen such order and neatness in a smaller greenhouse like this
And even here it's self service, just put the money in the box, but I'm happy we met Helene anyway, she was great to talk with.
And my friends Evy and Susanne certainly filled that box :D

Such a great experience, and you have to be quick getting plants here, she has what she has, when all is sold she close the greenhouse for the season, but Eggs and Honey can still be bought.

Today May 1st I woke up to a brief white wonderland, I knew it was coming so it wasn't really a chock, and I have a lot of neglected job to do inside the house, plus planting seedlings in larger pots.
My Apple Blossom "Signe Tillisch" yesterday:
And today:

But now it's warm and sunny so the snow will be gone in hours.

Have a great May 1st!
Per!
