Trellis for the Roses in the entrance garden

My entrance garden towards the street had only gravel when I moved in, but as you know, I now have a lawn with a new Magnolia and flowerbeds with clombing Roses and more-
It's growing quickly now and my new Roses start to need new trellis to grow on, I have now prepared for them.

To the right is the street and beyong that, the stream. On this wall are my plans to have climbing roses on each end growing up towards the bedroom window and Peonies between with a tree Peony in the middle. To the far left is the entrance to my house, at the "formal" garden.
There was only gravel here as I said. I put 5 pallet collars here and digged a deeper hole where the big plants where going
The climbing Rose New Dawn that I planted in October are a bit slow starter, but getting there
In between I filling up with perennials, mostly Nepeta of different kinds

Also Maiden Pink/Backnejlika
Behind the Maiden Pink You can see the other climbing rose: "Climbing Iceberg", a rose it took me a while to find, bit got it from "Trägår´n i Söderfors" in the end
China Peony "Hong Zhu Ying Yo"
To fill out I also put in some Physalis Peruviana/Kapkrusbär
Most of the Hollyhocks/Stockrosor I planted along the road did not like it there, so I moved them here instead
It's getting greener by the day :D

Along the barn with the stonewall the Climbing Rose Ilse Krohn loving is and growing fast, alreay on the trellis. On the barn door did I put a black flower container with cuttings of a larger wild Pelargonium Australe I bought a few years ago, that will cascade down
All three Climbing Roses are blooming all season, which was a demand from me.
On the other side of the door where a pallet collar is do I have the little Lilac, Isops and the Wild Honeysuckle/Caprifol and some pots with Pelargoniums

One of them is the beautiful "Francis James which will be the last photo from this part of the garden for this time
Hope You all had a good weekend, Per!

Wonderful feeling of Spring & Preparations for Climbing Roses & Peonies

Back in my garden after a hectic time in Stockholm where I worked with Jewellery during the viewings at Bukowskis Auction house "Fashion and Diamonds".
And what a comeback, sun and around +15C, fantastic and I used every second because it's soon cold again.

Along the south end of my house where it's now just graveled parking, I want climbing Roses and Peones. The roses because it's a two storey empty wall, only with my bedroom window on the second floor and I need something with height.
I already started with a Pink New Dawn in one corner last fall and it survived.
My plan is to plant in pallet collars instead of digging deep down in the compact graveled ground.

First assemble the natural untreated pallet collars
I glazed them black to match the buildings
I took away the gravel and put down the collars, leved and screwed the in the wall and to eachother
It start to look great! Next is to cover the inside with black plastic and drape the botton to let water through plus stop the weed. I will also dig out pits for the Peonies that I have ordered to be delivered in the fall.
Meanwhile I will have a lot of summer flowers and perennial flowers for the edges.
On the left side have I planted the reliable Climbing Rose "New Dawn" that already coming fine, and I have ordered the Rose for the right side, the new "Iceberg Clg".

Fika break in the warm sun
The Post woman came with a great delivery while I had my coffee: From Gourmet Garage did I receive exciting seeds; Borlotto Beans and a rare Salvia "Nana Blue".
And as a really nice moving in gift from Anna at Gourmet Garage I got Lemon salt from Italy "Fior di Sale al Limone"

After the break did I take the bicycle to the north side of the village, there outside the gates in the forrest can this amazing field of Snowdrops be found, amazing!

In the Manor house park did I find these Chionodoxa/Vårstjärna with the first Bee of the season :D

Today's Fika/coffee break with a Semla was special, the Post woman came with the newest issue of the Garden Magazine and a book I've been longing for: "Lundens Skugga" (In the shadow of the Woodland) by my friend Hannu Sarenström

That inspired me to clean up in the area where I plan my woodland, it's a huge task and will take some years to complete.

Today I discovered this little Daisy/Tusensköna in the lawn :D

I prepared one more pallet collar for the Garlic, with Coldpressed Linseed Oil

Inside my house do I have some branches I found in the forrest by a pile of logs, they are the bearer of spring :D

I have a small Walnut tree in a pot that I bought at the Hellekis Manor in Kinnekulle, it's going for it's 3rd year in a pot and seems to like it. It's too cold up here to plant it outside, so a Bonsai it will be.

I have been busy in the evenings re-planting all the Pelargoniums/Geraniums for the summer and are very grateful for my deep windows with a lot of space!

Have a great Spring All!
Regards, Per!

The Lost Entrance Garden and making of a New lawn

I was amazed seeing the wastness of gravel when I came to the house the 1st time, since all the other houses had lush gardens at their entrances.
A neighbor explained that previous tennant had many cars and took away a part of the hedge and the lawns, thereafter filled it all up with gravel.
Oh well, it's just to start to reclaim the former entrance!

The entrance from the road, all gravel :(, from the beginning the Snowberry hedge (Snöbärshäck) did grown on the both sides and gave a more protective yard, there have also been a lawn on both sides the whole way down to the barn where it's now just a slliver of muddy grass.
View to the road and the stream, the hedge has been growing out a meter from the house on the left, and the same by the mailbox on the right

I started to trim the Snowberry (Snöbärsbuske) hedge to get a better view of what to do

As You know since earlier, I made a 7 meter Perennial Flowerbed! I took those lawnsquares since they where of really good quality and created a new lawn in front of the barn towards the stonewall
And Voila, a lawn, with a hole for a future Butter-Pear tree (Gråpäronträd) :D

Next to the barn door against the warm stonewall that faces south did I place the beautiful fragant Climbing Rose Ilse Krohn.
I will make raised beds there next year so I needed to get the Rose higher up. I took away the bottom on a large plastic pot and placed it a bit higher. I will take it away next year when the flower beds are ready.
Ilse Krohn look fantastic against the Granite :D

Against the housewall (west facing) will I also have raised flowerbeds, but I have to get the Roses down so here I placed the amazing Climbing Rose New Dawn that grow pretty high, hopefully up to the bedroom window :D

Otherwise does the entrance look pretty amazing with the beautiful Maple, here in the evening sun
 Enjoy the Autumn, Per!
